Durante 2009 fue publicado el décimo trabajo en estudio del dúo británico que forman Francis Tennant y Cristopher Sean Lowe, conocidos a la posteridad por el nombre artístico de Pet Shop Boys. Un disco para el que contaron con la ayuda y colaboración del mítico Johnny Marr, más conocido por ser el guitarrista de The Smiths aunque bastante menos popular que el cantante de la misma, el célebre y controvertido Morrissey.
Una de las canciones incluidas en ‘Yes’ fue “King of Rome”. En su letra las aspiraciones de alguien que piensa que su vida cambiaría mucho en caso de ser el Rey de Roma, aunque lo que no sabemos a ciencia cierta si querían hablar de Rey o Emperador.
